Courses Offered


TREBLE CHOIR 1 (4858) - A course for beginning high- voiced singers who have little to no prior experience with choir or reading music, grades 9th-12th. Students sing in unison and two parts in the same octave, and gain the basics of staff reading and aural skills. Students study repertoire across a variety of styles, time periods and genres, selected by the director, which is of sufficient difficulty as to enrich every student. Instruction may also include regular exercises in sight reading, ear training, music theory and music history.

 

BASS CHOIR 1 (4747)- A course for beginning low- voiced singers who have little to no prior experience with choir or reading music, grades 9th-12th. Students sing in unison and two parts in the same octave, and gain the basics of staff reading and aural skills. Students study repertoire across a variety of styles, time periods and genres, selected by the director, which is of sufficient difficulty as to enrich every student. Instruction may also include regular exercises in sight reading, ear training, music theory and music history.

 

TREBLE CHOIR 2 (5058)- A course for advanced high-voiced singers who have demonstrated adequate competency in staff reading and aural skills. Students sing in multiple parts in the same octave and develop in their study of sight- reading, ear training, music theory and music history. Participation in this course is open to students grades 9th-12th, by director approval.


ADCHMB CHOIR (5144)- A course for advanced high and low voiced singers who have demonstrated adequate competency in staff reading and aural Skills. Students sing in multiple parts across multiple octaves and develop in their study of sight-reading, ear training, music theory and music history. Participation in this course is open to students grades 10th- 12th who have participated in another ensemble for at least one year, by director approval.
